2026 WAA Safety Day – May 19

The Westchester Aviation Association is pleased to announce its 10th Annual Safety Day, “Mindset & Mission: A Culture of Readiness,” and the opening of registration for this year’s event.


The event will take place on May 19, 2026 at Whitby Castle

330 Albany Post Road, Rye, NY 10580 between 8AM and 5:00PM.


The event will feature the following speakers and discussions:

  • Captain Russ “Boss” Bartlett, US Navy (Retired).  Captain Bartlett led the Blue Angels in 2003 and 2004 and will speak on “Leadership and Life Lessons From Blue Angel One”
  • Lt. Col. PK “Prince” Osahor, USAF, from the 106th Rescue Wing, NYANG, and his colleagues, who will present on After The Ditching:  What Rescuers Wish Pilots Knew”
  • Timothy Wade, FlexJet’s Director of Environmental, Health and Safety, and Jennifer Pickerel, President of Aviation Personnel International, speaking on See Something, Say Something, Fix Something: Creating An Aviation Culture Of Safety Ownership And Trust”
  • John Starace,  Airside Operations Manager at Westchester County Airport, and Kevin Honan,  Director of Product Development at Nimbl, will provide a look at “Behind The Sirens:  Emergency Response At HPN”


Also at Safety Day, WAA will award the 2026 Bill Weaver Memorial Scholarships
